Matthew Weeks, Attorney at Law

Matthew W. Weeks (weeks@kasuniclaw.com) joined the law firm of Carl P. Kasunic Co., L.P.A. in 2006 as an associate and became a partner in 2011. Some of his practice areas include social security disability, personal injury, domestic relations, appellate advocacy, juvenile law, and serving as a guardian ad-litem. He provides counseling and advice on other general legal matters. Some of his most rewarding work is representing the disabled and children. In addition to a strong litigation practice, he has successfully represented appellants and appellees at the 11th District Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, United States Federal District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Matt was born in Willoughby, Ohio and lived in Mentor, Ohio with his parents and two sisters. Matt has familial ties to many areas of northeast Ohio. Matt now lives in Twinsburg, Ohio with his wife and family. Matt graduated from Mentor High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University in political science. Matt received his juris doctorate degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, cum laude. He met his wife while studying in law school. During his time at Cleveland-Marshall he participated in the Fair Housing Clinic and served as an associated and managing editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. Matt continues his involvement with the law school by serving as a mentor to law students.

Music and athletics have played an important part in his life. He enjoys playing guitar and drums and played in several bands during his high school and college years. Matt has been a competitive cyclist for many years and has road on local cycling teams. He continues to enjoy playing music and cycling when time permits.
